Frank Lloyd Wright was given free creative rein by rare book dealers George and Alice Millard in designing this house. The Millard House was the first house in which Wright used his innovative textile blocks. Wright gave new life to concrete blocks with anew building system he called “textile block construction,” a reference to his idea of weaving concrete blocks on the warp and weft of reinforced steel, forming an inter locking system for the “fabric” of the house.
